With heavy hearts, we are saddened to share the passing of Dean Boerste, one of Lochmueller Group's original board members and a dear friend to many throughout our organization.
David Goffinet shared, "We will never forget his infectious laugh, the way he could change the feeling in the room by just being there, and the amount of critical connections and personal relationships he built over the span of his professional career. For those that knew him, we lost a friend."
During some of Lochmueller's earliest years, Dean brought confidence, determination, and deep community connections that helped shape the future of the company. His belief in our people and our potential played a meaningful role in the opportunities that helped define our company for decades to come, including the Southwest Indiana Highway Environmental Study that ultimately became the I-69 project, one of the most significant projects in our company's history.
Those who knew Dean best remember not only his contributions to the company, but also the values that guided his life and career. Patti Yount, who was friends with Dean long before they became colleagues at Lochmueller Group, reflected, "Your word was your bond. Clients, friends, and families should be able to count on you. If we screwed up, we made it right. High standards always." Patti added, "I was blessed to have both Dean and Candy as friends."
Today, we mourn his loss, but we also celebrate a life of service, leadership, and lasting impact. Dean's legacy lives on through the company he helped build and the countless lives he touched along the way.
